Impressed by BittarJanuary 28, 2012 (07:45) [ Indexed from Mirror.co.uk ] I'm sure I wasn't the only one impressed by new British Horseracing Authority chief executive Paul Bittar's appearance on the Morning Line last Saturday. Despite being inappropriately addressed for the Premier Enclosure - the Australian wore an open-neck shirt under his suit - Bittar came across very well. He rightly identified racing's parlous finances as his No 1 priority, and what he said about the whip rules suggested there was scope to move away from the unworkable statutes currently in place. When it comes to the latter, Bittar will negotiate with Paul Struthers, the former BHA communications man, now chief executive of the Professional Jockeys Association.
