The 2010 Cheltenham Gold Cup hero has been lightly raced in recent years having suffered various setbacks, and was pulled up in the Grand National in April.
But trainer Nigel Twiston-Davies is thrilled with the current well-being of the 12-year-old.
He said: "It's very possible he will go for the Hennessy. I was thinking about the Betfair, but if he was going to win that off a mark of 153 he should win doing handstands at Newbury. I've got to talk to the owners, but it is looking that way.
"He is in very good form and probably as fit as I have ever had him.
"He did a gallop around Towcester and went really well. He will go to
Newbury without a run as it is only a few weeks away."
