Trainer Tim Doyle is looking forward to seeing stable star Mallowney make his seasonal reappearance in Thursday's Clonmel Oil Chase.

The nine-year-old enjoyed a fine campaign last season, winning the valuable Dan Moore Memorial Chase at Fairyhouse in January before claiming his first Graded victory at Naas.

He has been off the track since finishing fourth in the Boylesports Champion Chase at the Punchestown Festival in April, but is ready for his comeback, with Andrew Lynch set to take over in the saddle from the sidelined Davy Russell.

Doyle said: "Clonmel is the plan at the moment.

"We just hope the rain keeps coming and the ground is on the easy side.

"He's in great form and we're looking forward to the winter with him.
