High hopes for Ribblesdale runner Chicadoro

Ralph Beckett expects Chicadoro to be well suited by the step up in trip in next month Ribblesdale Stakes at Royal Ascot.

Despite the daughter of Paco Boy having yet to race beyond 10 furlongs, the Andover handler feels she should have no problems in getting a mile and half in the Group Two event on June 16.

Having opened her account at the third time of asking as a juvenile, the three-year-old found only Swiss Range too good on her return in the Pretty Polly Stakes at Newmarket.

Beckett said: "Chicadoro will go to the Ribblesdale, all being well. She seems to have come out of her last race fine.

"I think it is the right race for her and trip-wise it should be right up her street."

Should there be sufficient ease in the ground, Chicadoro could be joined in the race by Sandown maiden winner Rocaverde.

Beckett added: "Rocaverde is in the Ribblesdale, but she needs juice in the ground so we will see how we go with her.

"She is just a job to keep sound so we will just have to be patient."
