Cheltenham ground crucial for Colin's Sister

There will have to be plenty of cut in the ground if Colin's Sister is to attempt to extend her unbeaten run at the Cheltenham Festival.

Fergal O'Brien's mare stretched her winning sequence to four in a Grade Two event at Sandown on Friday, and is as low as 8-1 for the Dawn Run Mares' Novices' Hurdle - but O'Brien will not risk her on quicker ground.

O'Brien said: "She's come out of Sandown very well. I was very pleased with her performance.

"She beat two very smart mares. Kerry Lee's (Happy Diva) had run well against the boys and Anthony Honeyball's (Ms Parfois) we had a line through another of our horses, so to give them 5lb and beat them nearly 10 lengths was very impressive.

"She'll need it to be soft at Cheltenham, though, I won't risk her even though we'd love a winner there.

"There are other races for her, she's won a Grade Two so there's a Grade One at Fairyhouse she wouldn't be out of place in."
