X Factor fan favourites Reggie and Bollie put their skills to the test at the weekend by rapping the commentary to The Coral Eclipse Race at Sandown Park
The hip-hop artists were put up to the challenge by Great British Racing as part of their #StirrupSummer campaign aimed at encouraging more families to take advantage of free entry for children and young people under 18, to enjoy activities at racecourses across the country.
So how did rapping in a commentary box at a racecourse compare with performing on the X Factor stage?
''Having spent time with legendary commentator Richard Hoiles, we were in awe of the skills commentators require to keep up with the pace of the races. We're always up for a challenge, looking at ways to put our own performing skills to the test, so when Great British Racing offered us the opportunity to try our hand at commentary, we jumped at the chance!" Said Reggie
Rod Street, Great British Racing chief executive, said: "When we heard that Reggie and Bollie were interested in giving their own fun spin on horse commentary, we were intrigued to see how they would get on, so we offered them the opportunity to show us their own twist on a traditional commentary. We hope people will get involved themselves and try their hand at their own version on our website".
Aspiring young rappers and commentators can take on Reggie and Bollie in the commentary challenge skills at https://www.stirrupsummer.com/hip-clop/.Entrants must be under 18 and entries must be submitted by July 31.
