De Bruyne Horse was a surprise absentee from the list of final declarations for the Weatherbys Super Sprint at Newbury on Saturday.

The Woodcote Stakes winner headed the ante-post market with some bookmakers at around 5-1 but will not take his chance in the valuable five-furlong contest.

Tim Palin, racing manager for owners Middleham Park Racing, said: "He runs in the Prix Robert Papin (Maisons-Laffitte) on Sunday instead. Basically the lure of a Group Two and the race cutting up helped us decide, and he'll be more suited over five and a half furlongs"

De Bruyne Horse's trainer Richard Hannon still has three horses representing his Marlborough stable as he looks for a second win after Tiggy Wiggy in 2014.

His trio comprises Zalshah, Glaceon and Lexington Grace.

Maggies Angel heads Richard Fahey's team of five as the Musley Bank handler tries to win this race for a third time after being successful with Peniaphobia (2013) and Lathom (2015).

His other runners, in a field of 25, are Inviolable Spirit, Requinto Dawn, Bengali Boys and Danehill Desert.

The four-year-old appeared to be on the unfavoured side of the course when eighth to Out Do in the Wokingham at Royal Ascot on his latest start.

"He's in really good form. He's come out of Ascot really well. I think ultimately he's going to go back to Goodwood for the Stewards' Cup," said Maureen Haggas.

The Charlie Hills-trained Magical Memory bids to back up his win at Haydock, while Hugo Palmer has two interesting runners in Gifted Master and Koropick in a field of 13 declared for the six-furlong heat.

Intisaab, who was a respectable seventh in the Group One July Cup at Newmarket last weekend, will make a quick reappearance for trainer David O'Meara.

Thikriyaat is set to tackle a mile and a quarter for the first time in the bet365 Stakes, registered as the Steventon Stakes.

A Group Three winner over a mile at Glorious Goodwood last season, the Sir Michael Stoute-trained colt is upped in trip after being well beaten over seven furlongs at Newmarket last time.
