Gary Moore praises son Ryan at Lingfield

Ryan Moore rode a rare winner for his trainer father Gary as he steered Sing Out Loud to victory in the Read Silvestre De Sousa At 188Bet Novice Auction Stakes at Lingfield.

Moore has ridden just a handful of horses for his Lower Beeding-based parent this year, but his decision to team up with 3-1 shot Sing Out Loud paid dividends in the six-furlong heat.

The Vocalised gelding finished down the field in a seven-furlong maiden at Glorious Goodwood on his racecourse bow, but stepped up on that effort to run out a cosy two-and-a-half-length winner for the Moore team at the Surrey venue.

Moore snr was thrilled to have his son, who is widely acknowledged as one of the best in the world, aboard on this occasion.

He said: "It's good to have him. He's very lucky as he has one of the best jobs in the world (as retained rider to the Coolmore team), but there's a reason he has that job.

"He's a very nice horse. I was slightly disappointed with his run at Goodwood, I thought he would run better than that but it just didn't quite work out.

"Ryan actually said he liked him! He really is a horse for the future, so hopefully it's onwards and upwards from here."
