Altior is likely to face a small field as he signs off for the season at Sandown on Saturday in the bet365 Celebration Chase.

Nicky Henderson's superstar won the Queen Mother Champion Chase in gritty style at Cheltenham and the Seven Barrows handler felt the eight-year-old was better off waiting for this race, which he claimed 12 months ago, rather than running at Aintree.

The race was reopened on Monday as it did not receive sufficient entries and still there are only eight possible rivals, including Special Tiara, who won the race in 2015 and was runner-up last year.

Henderson's Top Notch is among nine possible runners in the bet365 Oaksey Chase (for the Menorah Challenge Trophy).

Menorah's trainer Philip Hobbs could run Garde La Victoire, with Paul Nicholls triple-handed at this stage with Alcala, Present Man and Art Mauresque.
