Karl Burke is considering giving Havana Grey an outing in the Temple Stakes at Haydock on May 26.

The Leyburn handler has earmarked the five-furlong Group Two as a potential target for the three-year-old son of Havana Gold, who finished down the field on his seasonal return in the Palace House Stakes at Newmarket on Sunday.

Burke said: "We are not disappointed with him and he was a horse that was always going to need a run.

"Obviously we would have liked him to have won the race but in the final two furlongs he just got tired, which we knew he might.

"He will improve bundles for the run. We might look at the Temple Stakes at Haydock.

"We know he doesn't really stay six furlongs and that makes it tough for three-year-olds taking on older sprinters in the first half of the season.
